For Our Season 9 Fantasy Squads Season . . .

RULE REMINDERS/CHANGES:

·   Pitching:

·    Starters are ONLY allowed to start games. We will use a 5-man starting rotation. LRP’s can be used as starters in injury and suspension situations in any inning.

·    Long Relievers can come into pitch up to and inc. the 4th inning and from the 10th inning and on.

·    Middle Relievers can come in any time from the 4th inning and on.

·    Setup Pitchers can come in from the 7th inning and on.

·    Closers can come in from the 8th inning and on.

·    Try to use a short reliever no more than 5 games consecutive and your long reliever no more than 3 games consecutive.  Not going to police.... just be MLB realistic.

      ·    Short relievers roles are interchangeable from game 1 on within the same squad.  LRP's maintain their role.

  ·   Back-Up Catchers:  get your back up catcher somewhere in a mid-season game and at least by around the 10th game of
the season for each squad.  During that game your starting C is eligible to pinch hit.

  ·   Injuries:   Any injury will result in ANY player being out for that game only.

  ·   Playing Venues / Wind:   You may pick any MLB stadium to play in during any game as the host except for the
H.H.H. Metrodome (Minnesota Twins home field --- there is no Target Field, the Twins
current stadium).  Do not use a minor league ballpark.

 ·   Wind:  Prior to entering the game you can click on the "show info" button.  Then on "Wind Properties" you can keep it
at the default or click right or left if you want to choose "RANDOM".  These are your only 2 wind choices.
Leave direction and mow pattern as is.

REMEMBER:

·         Absolutely no pre-loading the bat.

·         Keep the pitch pace MLB realistic. Let the box score appear, then wait  4-5  seconds minimally to throw your first pitch.  Take about the same amount of time minimally in between pitches as an MLB pitcher would upon the ball returned to him by the catcher. Take extra time in between pitches to “psych out” your opponent if you want.  Keep up a “baseball atmosphere”.  Don't overdo it and take 15 secs. for each pitch either.

·         Quick pitch rule:  you get to "quick pitch" any ONE batter per inning. The first pitch follows the above rule.  Any pitch after that can be a quick one, about 2-3 second delay.  Quick pitching after a foul ball isn't really the most sim game play, but it will be allowed.

 ·         Pickoff rule:  the runner, with a speed of 80 or more is allowed 1 step off any bag. Pitchers are not allowed to attempt a pickoff.  Anything else is fair game for the pitcher to attempt a pick off.  If you pickoff a runner of 80 or more who only takes one step, you must immediately walk the existing batter and recreate the batter's baserunning situation.  On the second infraction in the same game, you must walk the next two batters.
